My first year of recovery was the best & hardest year of my life.
It was the year I came home to myself…
I’m not going to get into why or how I became mentally, emotionally and physically dependent on alcohol, waking up at through the night to top up so I didn’t go into withdrawal, I struggled leaving the house due to anxiety (caused by drinking) and chose alcohol over absolutely everything in my life (including my kids). All I can say is that over the years of not getting support for PTSD alcohol became my therapist/best friend/support system. At the time it made everything better until it slowly started destroying my life bit by bit and nearly ended up killing me.
But I couldn’t see my life without alcohol in it. I have never felt so alone and I was trapped in a maze of self-destructive behaviour I had NO idea where the exit was.
In May 2021 after a drinking & driving conviction, visits to treatment centre and doctors I was told I had ascites, alcohol cirrhosis and neuropathy - not even that could get me to stop. I was in complete denial, my doctor telling me over and over you’re going to die and all I could think about was my next drink.
On August 18th, 2021, I had a moment of clarity that changed everything. I realized that I wasn't invincible and that if I kept drinking, I was going to die. In that moment, I made a promise to myself - I vowed to never touch alcohol again and to do whatever it takes to get better, to live a full life, and to be there for my kids as they grow up. And I've kept that promise. I haven't looked back since then.
I was a shell of a person physically, mentally & emotionally.
I went from being lost, no idea who I was, filled with guilt and shame, to discovering my true self, finding my voice and going on a journey of profound personal growth and healing. From nearly dying diagnosed with cirrhosis and ascites, weighing 42kg and barely able to walk, to rebuilding myself physically and running my first  half marathon within my 1st year. I completed a 3-month treatment program and then continued to complete various courses on addiction therapy and nutrition to help get more insight on my healing journey mentally and physically. I built a solid foundation for my recovery. Setting small, achievable goals and celebrating milestones kept me on track. With each day, I grew stronger, making my recovery even more remarkable.
I'm often asked how I achieved this, and my answer is simple: consistency, embracing personal growth, willingness to change, listening, stepping out of your comfort zone, self-forgiveness, self-acceptance, and prioritising recovery above all else. Most importantly that a lasting sustainable recovery is not a quick fix, but when you put in the work get honest with yourself that’s when the magic happens and I can say this firsthand - WE DO RECOVER!
My Message of Hope to You
Believing in yourself is the first step towards transformation and growth. You are not defined by your past struggles or mistakes; rather, you have the power to shape your future and create a life filled with purpose and fulfillment. Change is possible, and it begins with a firm belief in your ability to overcome challenges and embrace personal growth. Through self-belief, determination, and dedication, you can rewrite your story, step into the best version of yourself, and live a life that aligns with your true desires. Remember, it is never too late to start anew and create the life you deserve. Believe in yourself, take the necessary steps towards change, and watch as your journey unfolds with endless possibilities.

MY why
In the early days of my recovery journey, I felt lost, alone, and uncertain about the road ahead. Finishing the treatment program left me craving personalized support for my physical, mental, and emotional well-being, which was missing. I sought guidance that combined nutrition and personal growth, leading me on a journey of self-discovery that touched every part of my life. Engaging in various courses and crafting a wellness plan, I set daring goals like running a half marathon and skydiving from 15,000 feet in my first year of recovery.
Having reached these milestones and built a solid foundation for my own recovery, I witnessed the struggles of those around me. This experience highlighted the essential need for tailored support from someone who truly understands the journey. After exploring avenues like AA and volunteering in drug and alcohol services, where I found a lack of a person-centered approach, I realized the importance of such an approach in supporting individuals on their recovery journey. This realization inspired me to continue my certifications as a Recovery Coach Professional (RCP©) and Wellness Coach, I established my business with the dedication to create a program that offers a clear path, support, and guidance for lasting, sustainable recovery. All you need to do is show up and put in the work.
My mission is to
Provide unwavering support to women in early recovery so they never have to face the same isolation, overwhelm, and confusion I once did. I truly believe that everyone deserves compassionate support and guidance, a non-judgmental space, and someone who wholeheartedly believes in the possibility of change and in you.
